On Miami Beach’s Art Deco Ocean Drive, this 99-room boutique hotel was renovated and reopened in 2011. Superior rooms start the offerings in 350 square feet with a king bed, while Deluxe Rooms provide a balcony and oftentimes a couch that can serve as a bed for a small child. Junior Suites provide a separate sitting area with sofa. Four rooftop suites are the largest offering with a sitting area and rooftop hot tub. All rooms are outfitted with 42-inch flat-screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and free Wi-Fi. The front porch of the Breakwater is a restaurant called Il Paparazzi. Not part of the hotel, guests receive a 20 percent discount to dine here. A dining area between the hotel’s two buildings known as Ocean’s Ten provides sidewalk dining from breakfast through dinner.
