We have stayed with 3 kids in a junior suite. Very friendly staff help us to park car (as there is no parking at hotel) and get us settled in. Room was comfortable, only airco was somewhat loud. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is located next to the Zocalo and everything is in walking distance. Why not 5 stars: there was hardly any serving at the hotel, expect during breakfast. But I would certainly recommend it for a city trip to Oaxaca.

This hotel was hard to review as much was nice but some basics were lacking. The best things about this hotel are the location and the tranquil feeling once you are inside. My friend and I had a Jr. Suite upstairs, which was very large and light, The service by everyone except the front desk was excellent. Those are the positives.
There were some negatives, tho. The tub/shower combo has very high sides and getting in and out is extremely awkward. The grout had mildew and the whole tub area had an unpleasant feel, which was surprising given the cleanliness of the room. I think the hotel has some deferred maintenance. The room was quite stark and noisy as there was nothing on the walls or the floor. Some little touches of color would have been nice. The AC was not sized to sufficiently cool the room. I thought we were paying for the pool man who was around to get drinks and the restaurant, which was lightly used. We did not eat at the restaurant. If you want a vacation by a small pool where someone will give you a drink, this is a good place to do it.
