Overview

This suite-centric hotel is a bit outside of downtown Portsmouth — however, a free shuttle brings guests into town so they don’t have to drive. If you can overlook that minor inconvenience, this hotel is a fantastic place to stay, especially for families. All of the suites come equipped with full kitchens that feature stove, microwave, refrigerator, and dishwater, and the suites themselves are very spacious and clean with comfortable and modern furnishings.
Suites come in one-, two-, and three-bedroom sizes, featuring queen and king beds and a pullout sofa. The hotel also has a pool and fitness center with a basketball court to keep teens happy; and rents out bicycles if you prefer to peddle into town. Historic downtown Portsmouth is less than a 10-minute drive away; or head the other way across the Maine border to Kittery outlet shopping.

Definitely worth the money. The only thing dragging this rating down is, they offered a complimentary pasta with toasted pita (garlic?) dinner which was "ok". The intent was excellent but the "quality" was so-so. I think the complimentary dinner/breakfast could both use a little attention. The pasta was over cooked, pita (?) was flavorless and under toasted. The breakfast was a little better but still needs some attention.

My wife and I were looking for a nice getaway without the children. The reviews looked great, pictures even better. We were looking forward to enjoying the pool and the outdoor fire place(s). When we used the pool, we found it wasn't heated. I can tolerate cool pools, but I was cold and my wife couldn't even use it. We then asked the staff about the outdoor fire places and were told they both were out of order. We had an opportunity to take advantage of the hotels free shuttle service to go into downtown Portsmouth, but we were looking forward to enjoying the hotel. If we wanted to be in downtown, we would have booked a hotel downtown. We stayed in our room and watched TV, which was very poor quality. Pretty sure the channels weren't even HD. For the price I paid for the suite, I was disappointed with the hotel amenities.
