Staff needs some retraining on how to interact with guess, especially if a reservation is not being honored for that room type. I understand everyone has off days, but for it to occur on multiple days that is a issue.

I have stayed at several Homewood Suites and they have been great, but this experience was not. Our hotel room was barely cleaned and there was still garbage under the chairs. There were dirty washcloths in the bathroom and an empty roll of toilet paper with no replacement roll. In addition to the lack of cleaning, the room we were in (112) had either the washers or the water heater for the building on the same wall as the bedroom. It kicked on with a loud thud every 30-60 minutes, ran sloshing water for 10 minutes and then shut off. All of this we realized well after midnight when we returned to our room after a class we attended. This made for a very rough night. We let the front desk associate know about our problems and her answer was a very non-enthusiastic "I'm sorry to hear that" handed us our receipt and walked away. If we hadn't had another class in less than a half hour after we checked out, we would have asked for a manager. It's very disappointing that we drove over 3 hours and had to deal with a lack of sleep and an unclean room. I will not be recommending this hotel and will not be staying there again when I visit Grand Rapids.
