As the newest hotel in Charlottetown in nearly 30 years, the Holman Grand, which opened in 2011, offers sleek, European designs, geothermal heating and power in each guestroom and a seven-story atrium that every guestroom opens out to in the hallway. The glass railings surrounding the atrium on each floor allow a flood of light into the hallways from the ceiling skylight. At the bottom of the atrium, guests will find a common area with a fireplace, TV, couches and a business center.

The pet-friendly hotel features an indoor pool and high-end championship putting and chipping green inside the hotel. With direct interior access to the Confederation Centre of the Arts and the Charlottetown Mall, families do not have to venture outside to find entertainment (though they certainly should). The onsite restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and numerous restaurants and shops are within walking distance in downtown Charlottetown.

The Holman features 80 guestrooms and each guestroom requires the room key to power the energy efficient geothermal power. Slide your key into the slot by the door and all the lights and power are accessible. The air conditioner is not affected by the geothermal access and there is a nightlight on the floor by the door so guests can find their way if need be.

All of the guestrooms feature a mini-fridge, which can be stocked if requested, and hardwood floors. Bedside outlets are also available. Connecting rooms are available. Cribs are available at no additional charge and rollaway beds do include an additional nightly fee.

Holman and Standard Rooms
These guestrooms features one king or two queen beds and a stand-up shower in the bathroom.

Island Suites
These suites feature one king or one queen bed and a sleeper sofa in front of a fireplace sitting area, which is separated by a half-wall from the bedroom area. The bathrooms include a stand-up shower, plus a bathtub. Two televisions are also included in these suites.

Harbor Light Suites
These one-bedroom suites feature one king bed in the bedroom area and a sleeper sofa in the separate living room area. There is a wet bar and dining table that seats four, as well.

Penthouse Suite
The Penthouse Suite features a few variations as it's technically four different rooms on the 10th penthouse floor that can be rented separately or as one. Renting the full penthouse can sleep up to 10 people. Large floor-to-ceiling windows surround each room and overlook downtown Charlottetown.

A wraparound deck offers even prettier city and waterfront views as well. With glass balconies and tables and chairs, families will not be disappointed with the additional, large outdoor space. Tubs and stand-up showers are available in the penthouse, along with queen and king beds. One room features two queen beds and the master bedroom features a king bed. The separate living room includes large couches, sleeper sofa, fireplace and large table that seats six.

Indoor Pool
The indoor pool is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Kids will love the waterfall design at one end of the pool and parents will love the hot tub. Pool towels are provided. Chairs surround the pool deck and lockers and a restroom can be found just outside the pool area.

All About Golf
It's all about golf at the Holman Grand! Families will find an impressive, championship putting and chipping green inside the hotel. Families will love the high-end mini golf and they can also find a golf simulator, too. Several "real" golf course can also be found only a short drive away from the hotel as well.

Redwater Rustic Grille
This casual, upscale restaurant is attached to the hotel and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 a.m. and lunch and dinner runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. The outside deck, overlooking Grafton Street, is great to enjoy your meal on during a summer day. In-room dining is also available through the Redwater Grille.

Valet parking is available to guests for a $16 nightly charge with unlimited access to enter and exit. There is no self-parking option at the hotel, but metered, street parking does surround the hotel.

Pet Friendly
Cats and dogs under 50 pounds are welcome to stay at Holman Grand. There is a two animal maximum per guestroom and no additional charge unless your pet causes damage or disturbance to the room or guests.

The Holman Grand Hotel is open year round but the peak, summer tourist season runs in July and August.

Getting There
The hotel is located in downtown Charlottetown, which is situated in the center of Prince Edward Island, and about 10 minutes from the Charlottetown Airport. The town of Cavendish, which is located on the north shore of the island, is about 40 minutes away from the hotel and Confederation Bridge is about 50 minutes away.

Getting Around
The Holman Grand is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown, which is easily walkable. Families can walk to many restaurants, shops and attractions in Charlottetown when staying at the Holman. However, if families plan to explore more of Prince Edward Island, a vehicle is recommended.
