I chose this hotel because it was within walking distance (just) of where I had to be in Shoreditch in the morning. However, I was soon to realise that gentrification has not reached this corner of Whitechapel/Stepney. Walking in the dark from Whitechapel Underground to the hotel may only take 15 minutes, but it is seriously dodgy. Seeing the neon green Holiday Inn lights was a blessed relief...
The hotel itself is very good. Pleasant, polite check-in staff and an easy-going restaurant (not brave enough to venture outside to eat). Only gripe was having to fight them to receive my IHG amenity points. First World problems, I know, but I object when a member hotel is incapable of implementing the group loyalty scheme.

This hotel was perfect for a low budget, high standard, business hotel. I needed to be close the City for 2 nights, and while the location is not the best part of London - it is only a 20 minute walk from the central Liverpool Street area. Clean, good service and functional.
