Located near the subway, families can be in Manhattan within minutes when stay at Holiday Inn Long Island City. It’s also a short drive to New York City airports. The guestrooms and suites feature king or queens, a mini-fridge and free Wi-Fi. The suites feature a balcony that offers great Manhattan city views. There is a full-service restaurant called Rio Grande and children under 12 years old eat free. The Rio Grande, which serves authentic Brazilian BBQ, is open for breakfast and dinner. They are open for lunch on the weekends. There is no pool at this hotel but there is a fitness center.

I am to this hotel as an IHG reward customer as I was running the NYC marathon and here is my honest view, I hope it helps. Because of the pros and cons, I have overall rated this as okay.
The general hotel- the hotel generally is nice and clean. The hotel staff are very friendly and polite and he really the room was pretty good and comfertable. The location is a bit 50/50! The location is abit light a ghost town to be honest. There is 1 restaurant and 1 pub in close proximity but there is no-one around or not much to do! However saying that the subway stations are very near by (5mins walk) and you can get to Penn/Broadway or Times Sq within a few mins.
Getting a taxi is non existent so you should use your uber account if you need a cab.
Price of the hotel is abit high (I paid £1200 for 7 nights) and it was an okay hotel with nothing around.
The restaurant is sub contracted out but the food and price is pretty good.
Generally it's an okay hotel and would go back again.

Rooms are clean comfortable. Equipped with coffee maker, iron and hairdryer. Toiletries included. Breakfast was not included in our package but is available if required. Vending machines available for snacks. Although there is a corner shop about 50m away. Subway/tube just a two minute walk to take you to the heart of the city
