Located a few miles from John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, the beach isn’t far from this resort. The guestrooms at this Holiday Inn feature a a mini-fridge, free Wi-Fi and a sleeper sofa with two queen beds. Families will love the two outdoor, heated pools (one of which has a waterfall) and a poolside Tiki Bar that serves lunch, dinner and cocktails while playing live island music. Two additional onsite restaurants serve breakfast, lunch and dinner at the garden terrace or overlooking Key Largo Marina. Don’t forget that kids eat free at the Holiday Inn too. A piece of Hollywood history is only steps away from the resort. So stop by the marina and snap a photo of The African Queen, the original boat used int he 1951 movie with Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn.

We stayed here one night and upon check in we noticed, how unfriendly the receptionists were (and trying to avoid working). We went into our room and it smelled really bad. After calling to ask for someone to check it, we went out. As we returned we asked, whether they checked our room and the receptionist seemed offended ("I do not check the rooms!"). Our room still smelled bad and after calling again, we could change the room to the ground floor. It smelled nice and clean. The pool area and Tiki Bar is fantastic and we went to Doc's Diner across the street. If the staff had been more friendly and accomodating, my rating would have been better.

Great location, especially if you are looking for a snorkeling or scuba diving excursion. I got to see the African Queen in the nearby docks. There is an offsite restaurant behind their restaurant as well. The pool and the restaurants had live music which was really nice. Beautiful pools and helpful friendly staff.
