Quite and just a short distance off an interstate Hiway. Bed and pillows comfortable. Suggest staying on the opposite side of the highway. Upper floors give you a nice view. The elevators could get crowded.

My wife and I don’t get away that often anymore, however, we decided to stay at the La Quinta Overland Park for a football weekend. Once we arrived, the first impression of the property was a 40 foot garbage dumpster blocking the view of the front entrance (see photo). The lobby was worse with exposed dry wall and tarps. The water fountain and bathrooms off the lobby were out of order. There were rolls of carpeting blocking the hallway access. The breakfast was offered in a temporary small conference room with contractors working on the other side of the partition.
We were told that we would get a renovated room and we did receive one. However, the main room was so dark we couldn’t read the buttons on the microwave. Additionally, they had a mirror with Bluetooth sound that was not hooked up properly. When I played songs from my iPod, I could hear it playing in another guest room down the hall. Then a guest in that room was playing his music through our mirror.
It is unbelievable to me that LaQuinta was renting hotel rooms at this property when the entire hotel was under construction.
If this is the quality of LaQuintas hotels, I will stay with a Hampton Inns in the future.
