Overview

The three-floor, 99-room Holiday Inn Express & Suites Nogales is located close to Palo Duro Creek Golf Course and Santa Cruz County Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center, Sacred Heart Parish and Historic Santa Cruz County Courthouse. Guests are only three miles from the US-Mexico border. As usual, the brand delivers on family amenities. There is plenty of on-site parking, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, gift shop / newsstand and two coffee / café shops. Families really enjoy the free, hot Express Start Breakfast Bar with fresh fruit, fresh hot coffee, assorted pastries, eggs and the hotel’s signature cinnamon rolls.

There are a variety of room choices and all come standard with free Wi-Fi access, a 32-inch flat screen TV, a fridge and microwave for in-room dining and triple-sheeted bedding. There are connecting suites available.

Not exactly pet friendly

They allow dogs, but I don't think that a hotel can be truly called pet friendly if there is no where to walk your pet on the property.

Otherwise, okay. Carpet grubby. Breakfast was adequate. The beds were pretty comfortable. Conveniently located.

Terrific visit!

My colleagues and I stayed at HIE Nogales for four days while working at the border. I didn't have huge expectations other than good sleep, but I was pleasantly surprised. This hotel was spotless, the rooms were perfect, and the staff was more than attentive. I received a nice upgrade as a Platinum IHG member. This hotel felt more upscale than it was advertised. We were pleasantly impressed! Ironically enough, I had booked a more upscale hotel in Phoenix to book-end this trip around flights, and I was much more pleased with the HIE at half the price.
