Stayed with husband, daughter and two small grandchildren. Rooms were spacious enough, beds very comfortable, although it did say we would have iPhone docking station but there wasn’t one and on highlighting this to reception, one was not put in.
The AC compressor in our room was broken and only pumped out hot. The maintanence guys did come and check it out quickly but couldn’t fix it until the next day, so we spent the night sweltering in a 76 degree room - as the window could only open 2 inches.
Breakfast was good enough - choice of cereal, eggs, waffles toast etc. the breakfast staff were particularly Courteous and helpful.
We encountered a discrepancy between the price we booked with booking.com and the price we were charged ( $20 more). - it appears that this was due to the $15 daily parking fee tax being 18% although, the figures still do not add up.
When we went to enquirer about the charge discrepancy and ask for some discount, due to the broken AC causing us an uncomfortable first night, the receptionist Wanda, made a comment indicating that she thought we were trying to obtain an unreasonable discount. At this point the night manager, Antoinette, came over and told us that we would have to take our complaint up with booking. Com and that, as far as the AC issue was concerned - we had reported it, they had fixed it ( the next day) and so they were not prepared to compensate us.
Antoinette was rude, abrupt and dismissive, she walked off without discussing our concerns fully. My husband later went back down and told the receptionist that he considered that they had been rude to us and that if it were her money, she was spending out, to spend a night in a sweating hot room, she would not consider it an unreasonable request.
Overall, this encounter did change our opinion of the hotel - which is a shame - as if that had not been the case, we would have used this hotel again but now we will not.

This was a great hotel centrally located to the National Mall and not crazy expensive or with an exorbitant car parking fee. This isn’t a 5 star hotel but it gets the job done.
It’s very clean and the rooms look to be newly remodeled. Our room also had a mini fridge, microwave and a Keurig with Kcups.
The staff was amazing! Literally every staff member we talked to from the front desk attendant to the gentleman stocking the breakfast area was extremely friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions with a smile on their face.
The breakfast was adequate. It had a little bit of everything and everyone should be able to find something to eat.
We would definitely stay there again!
