Great place to stay especially if visiting Seneca Alleghany Casino. It is literally right by the casino and rates are very good for fri/sat nights. Everything is in great condition and well maintained (rooms, lobby, bathrooms, breakfast area). Service is excellent. Oh, and can't forget to mention free hot breakfast with a good variety of foods; and free parking. I will definitely stay here again!

We found this Holiday Inn to be so-so.
Overall impression...the room was acceptably clean -- not outstanding -- but acceptable. The halls somewhat noisy. Breakfast barely acceptable, but nice to have that option. The crowd inside -- and outside -- the hotel was a tad on the "sketchy side" in my opinion...alot of people just hanging around -- when we checked in, when we went out to grab a late dinner and when we checked out the next day. Not sure what that was about, but definitely noticed it and it made both of us slightly uncomfortable...
Encountered two "issues" during our stay... First, we were not assigned the style room we had reserved -- a "similar" one -- but not the one described online when the reservation was made. When I questioned the front desk about this, I was given a "generic" answer -- never actually acknowledged this fact -- just stated that the hotel was "full" so there were no other options "available" to us. Since it was late, we opted just to stay put...
The other issue had to do with when we were checking out/exiting the hotel... They have a small smoking area located JUST outside the main doors of the hotel -- so we had to go through a cloud of smoke being made by HOTEL EMPLOYEES when exiting the hotel. This also meant that when I pulled into the little "circle" to load the car, we were surrounded by smoke during that whole process... While I respect people's rights and understand the need for such an area, it's an extremely inconsiderate spot to put it -- particularly for hotel guests that have asthma, such as myself!! I literally had to try to hold my breath while loading my car so my asthma didn't "kick in"... Not to mention the fact I don't think it looks good to have employees standing out front taking their smoke breaks...
All of the above put together reminded me why I tend to stay away from Holiday Inns if at all possible... While we had an acceptable stay, I wouldn't "recommend" this Salamanca Holiday Inn -- and I would not opt to stay here again if other options were available in the area.
