I mostly stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels for business and have stayed at many, and this one was average at best. The staff in the evening were excellent, but in the early AM, the person working was not very receptive or helpful. The breakfast was good and presented well, but the lobby store was nearly empty with a very limited selection of soft drinks, snacks, sundries and toiletries. I had to drive to the local Walgreens to stock up. They include airport in their name, but the are not that close to the airport. I expect nearly walking distance like the Radisson. Many Holiday Inn Express hotels are ran extremely well and are wonderful to stay at; this one was not. I will probably not stay there again unless other hotels are full and I have no choice.

We stayed in this hotel during a larger road trip and didn’t exactly get the typical holiday inn experience.
It’s worth noting that there’s two holiday inns across the highway from each other. One is a regular and one is express. Easy to confuse, so make sure you go to the right one.
So, there’s two unusual things. Our reception wasn’t exactly welcoming. Front desk wasn’t particularly pleasant when we arrived. It wasn’t anything in particular, just not inviting.
Secondly, there was a gas leak during the night. A fire truck arrived and perhaps twenty minutes later, the fire department requested we evacuate the building. The smell of gas was pretty serious and I wondered why we weren’t evacuated earlier. Anyway, it was only about half an hour until we could go back in to our rooms.
The hotel did say a partial refund would come through, so that was a nice touch.
