This newly renovated hotel sits off the interstate in the quiet northern part of town. Ideal for a large family are their contemporary suites featuring two queen beds and a full sleeper sofa. Every room includes a kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee maker. The whole family will love the large outdoor pool, which is surrounded by a beautiful courtyard with comfy lounge chairs and tables. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and the reliable hot breakfast that Holiday Inn Express is famous for.
Holiday Inn Express is located right off the interstate, not far from the campus of Abilene Christian University. There are several fast food and casual chain restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, but you’ll find local options around the school and in Abilene’s downtown district about 5 miles away. The historic downtown area has a thriving restaurant scene, cool buildings, and a few world-class museums that kids will love. Start with the amazing Frontier Texas, which uses holographic technology to walk you through the history of the state. Next, visit the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, a free museum that celebrates artwork from children’s books. Ready for outdoor adventure? It’s a short drive from your hotel to the hiking trails of Abilene State Park, where you can also picnic, fish, and swim. On the way back to town, stop at Buffalo Gap Historic Village for a trip back through time. With its renovated suites, large pool, and quiet location, the Holiday Inn Express is an ideal choice for your family vacation in Abilene.

We checked in and were not given the option of water or rewards points as Gold Elite member. Hotel overall not clean. Elevators, stairs, hallways all in need of vacuuming Our bathroom had partially used toiletries. The floors Monday morning in the breakfast areas were very dirty and had food on them that had been there awhile. Luckily we were just here to sleep.

The front desk lady was very friendly. The rooms were very clean. The hotel looked like it had been remodeled and they did a great job. We were just passing through Abilene and made a great pick with this one! Close to a Walmart and a Starbucks. Which we took advantage of.
