Want an authentic Old West experience? Book a stay at the Historic Occidental Hotel & Saloon in Buffalo, Wyoming. Famous guests of the hotel have included Buffalo Bill, Butch Cassidy and the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, and even Theodore Roosevelt, long before he became president.
Guestrooms, while updated, look as though they might have when the hotel opened more than 135 years ago. Each room is different in décor, too. While most rooms feature one bed only, the Stewart Clear Creek Cabin is a nice option for families. Wi-Fi is free.
While at the hotel, be sure to dine at The Virginian Restaurant. The kids will also love the old-fashioned soda fountain (and other treats) at the Busy Bee Café onsite.

This place is totally awesome! Thursday night is the Bluegrass Music! Free music and fun for all!!! Most talented musicians come out of the woodwork to showcase their amazing talents!!! This Historic Hotel is the best of the west! You will feel like you're in the Old West and Calamity Jane might just "Occidentally" stumble through the door at any second! Old West Hotel at its finest!

The Occidental is unique . The owners have tried to keep this original historic hotel and saloon as authentic as possible whilst adding some modern requirements . The bedrooms are all themed and named after the famous guests who have stayed there before us and furnished with mostly comfortable antique furniture . Be prepared to carry your bags upstairs , no lifts in this classic. The saloon is amazing and the bar is original with lots of photographs of the original occupants. Very comfy
