One would expect the highest standards of comfort in a Hilton Garden. We have stayed in several, and found this to be true. Lenox/Pittsfield was a bit of a disappointment. HVAC in the room was not easy to understand. The thermostat on the wall had all the indications that it was functioning and "in charge". It wasn't. In order to control room temperature, it was necessary to use the controls on the unit under the window. Not easy. Those controls had remnants of masking tape covering much of the display. Reminiscent of a makeshift sign that had been placed there letting occupants know to use the wall thermostat. Must have changed at some point. If there are two HVAC controls, then PLEASE make it understandable! When using water in the bathroom, finding a constant temperature was elusive, and in the end, not possible. Nothing worse than having your head under water and experiencing extreme hot then extreme cold. In the 21st Century, this problem should have been solved. In fact it has in all the other Hilton brand hotels where we have had the pleasure of staying. Close to 150 different facilities. Oh, and when we retrieved our free water from the fridge, they were frozen solid. Didn't know the fridge was a substitute for a freezer. Not your finest stay. Disappointed.
