Overview

The Hermes Hotel is centrally located within walking distance to all of Athens’ most famous ancient sites like the Acropolis and Olympic sites. Its Family Rooms consist of two interconnected rooms with two marble bathrooms. There’s a small indoor play area for little children and a fantastic free breakfast spread in the lobby every morning. The Wi-Fi is also free and fast, but parking is limited and pricey nearby (not that you should be driving in Athens!)

As described by Rick Steves, the hotel was well located on a quiet Plaka street. We walked everywhere. Our room was clean and well designed. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Good chance to try Greek pies and sweets! Front desk help were very helpful.

Centally located but thin walls

The Hermes has a great location, within walking distance of the Plaka, the cathedral, Monastiraki Square, but the walls in the rooms are paper thin. You can hear conversations in the room next to yours. :( Not good.
We were traveling with family and the floor of the shower in their room was partially black-mold, mildew, just some sort of stain? We don't know what it was but-yuck. That room (Room 301) also had musical pipes-every time the water went on, the pipes banged and gurgled, loudly.
Good location though.
