Overview

These six stylish log cabins are a step up from most, with modern amenities and unique Alaska-themed decorations. The largest of them, The Chalet, can hold a family of eight in two bedrooms, plus a living room, reading loft and full kitchen. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and a BBQ gas grill. Families will love the privacy of each cabin. With only six cabins spread out over twelve wooded acres atop a scenic ridge, you’ll feel like you have the whole wilderness to yourself. The large private deck of your cabin offers breathtaking 360-degree mountain views.

The Healy Heights Family Cabins are a short distance from the Parks Highway and the town of Healy, where you’ll find several family-friendly restaurants. Rose’s Cafe is a local favorite for breakfast on your way to Denali National Park, while the 49th State Brewing Company Brew Pub is a fun stop for dinner on your way back to the cabin. There’s plenty to do right outside your cabin door, including a 9-hole golf course, hiking trails, kayaking on the lake and fly fishing in the creek. Local tour guides and outfitters can help you explore the national park, which is a short 12 miles away. With its incredible location, modern amenities and quiet surroundings, you’ll find everything you need for a genuine Alaskan adventure at the Healy Heights Family Cabins.

Quiet Roomy Cabin

by EileenB641

We stayed in the Windward Cabin for 2 nights. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We found the cabin to be larger than expected with plenty of room for 4 adults. It was situated in a quiet area among trees. The kitchen was well stocked with complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. We had to turn on the heat the second night we were there and found it heated up very quickly. There was plenty of hot water for 4 adults to shower. We found the shower stall to be a bit tight for big or tall people but not a deal breaker. The property itself was off a paved road but to get to it from the main road you had to go up a dirt/gravel hill before the paved section starts but it is Alaska after all. Just be aware that some car rental companies in Alaska prohibit driving on dirt and gravel.

Very secluded.

We stayed in the North Ridge Cabin. It is across the street from the other cabins and feels very secluded.Small cabin with very small bathroom but we felt it was plenty of space. Another reviewer said there is no grocery nearby but there is a rather large grocery in Healy as well as a gas station and hardware store. There is also a very good brewpub that has the bus from the movie Into the Wild. We liked being away from the congestion of McKinley Park and enjoyed our stay here. They came in and emptied the trash every day and made the bed. The kitchen is tiny but we cooked salmon and burgers on the grill and made side dishes in the microwave. This cabin sits at the top of a large bluff. We also enjoyed the Alaska tradition of leaving guests REALLY GOOD coffee. We had some in everyone one of the 4 cabin rentals we did....and no TV...Yay!!!
