A farmhouse turned B&B in the heart of the northern White Mountains, Harmony Mountain Abode provides a peaceful refuge and convenient jumping off point from which to explore the outdoors. The Chinese couple that owns the inn have kept the European mountaineering names for the rooms from the previous owners, but also injected a holistic Asian vibe into the atmosphere.
Among the seven rooms here are two family suites for children 12 and up, one that has a queen bed and separate living room with pullout sofa, electric fireplace and kitchenette with refrigerator and coffeemaker. The other has a queen bed, as well as an extra living room with futon and kitchenette. The rooms are cozy and exceptionally clean, with all new furniture.
While breakfast is included in the rate, the owners will deduct the cost if you decide to cook for yourself. Likewise, the owners offer a home-cooked meal of Chinese food, served buffet style for a mere $30 per person. The inn also has five acres of land in the back to explore, as well as a fireplace and a reading library.
