My daughter and I stayed for 4 nights. Upon arrival we had to pay $200 for a security deposit. I find this so ridiculous and no one bothered to advise us before arrival. Anyway the room was nice, clean, TV picture was fuzzy, window facing a wall (no view whatsoever) and the extractor fan from the kitchen was really only the noise. In the room there is a coffee making machine, I don’t drink coffee and asked reception if they had a kettle, so I could make tea. They then asked for a $20 deposit for this. Which in my opinion after you’ve already paid for the room, put a $200 deposit down, why should you then have to put down another deposit for a kettle. It’s not like you can steal it, we’re on a different voltage in the UK!!! I refused to do this over principal and the two people on reception started to slag my daughter and I - off to each other - to which I asked them not to do that and that they were rude. I wouldn’t stay here again, purely as the staff are obnoxious. Why would you want to pay their wages when they can’t interact. There are some lovely hotels close by that I would use if I came again. The breakfast’s in the Daily Grill are lovely and so are the staff. Quick and efficient. To any future traveller staying here, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Go with a massive wallet of cash as the Handlery want deposits for everything!
