The floor had like a grease film on both the tile and carpet. The fire alarm went off at 6am when we tried turning the furnace on. Every time we tried the furnace it would start smelling so bad that we just didn’t use it.

I last stayed here a couple of years ago & this place was tired & needed updating. The room had been refreshed and suitable. No issues there. Housekeeping was courteous & did a good job. We stayed 3 nights. For the first 24 hours we had to listen to the chirping of what sounded like a dying battery in a smoke detector. It was reported to the desk clerk. She heard it and said it would be resolved. The next morning we reported it to housekeeping. She said she would report it. When we returned later in the day, it was still chirping BUT maintenance was working on it. I don’t know why it took so long to fix. No issues after that. The breakfast dining area is where I noticed the greatest improvement. Previously, it was a cramped space but now there is ample room. This is the only place I’ve stayed which offers grated cheese as a topping for the eggs. I really like that touch. Lori is still on the job. Anything you want to know about Natchitoches, Steel Magnolias (she was in the movie), she can tell you. This is my favorite place to stay in Natchitoches.
