I have stayed at many Hampton Inns around the country, and this one met the same high standards as all the others. The room was clean (except for a soiled toilet seat), and there were more than enough fresh towels available.
The Front Desk staff were professional and friendly. Craig was particularly engaging and knew just what to say to make us smile or laugh whenever we passed by. The record-breaking cold temperatures did nothing to dampen his spirits, and he was sure to keep the hot water urn full for we weary travelers who needed a hot chocolate boost at all hours.
The location is excellent, just seconds from Lagoon Amusement Park. A front-facing room will give you a view of the rides. I would venture to say you can hear the screams as well, though the park was not open during our stay.
The rooms are not particularly soundproof, as our apparently insomniac hall-neighbor showed us with his TV on high volume through the night. Luckily, we were worn out each day and did manage to get decent sleep on the super comfortable beds. Fluffy (but not overly soft) pillows were abundant and appreciated.
Breakfast included a different egg dish each day, make-your-own waffles, bacon or sausage, cereals, breads and pastries, as well as smoothies and fresh pressed juices. As one who needs to be gluten-free, there was enough to satisfy. Though I do wish Hampton Inn would start to offer gluten-free varieties of the breads and pastries.
A free shuttle is available to locations within a 5-mile radius, which for this hotel includes Station Park, a delightful shopping/dining destination with a Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, among other restaurants and numerous retail options.
