The hotel is extremely dated. The first thing that makes it dated is the chargeable Internet fee. Yeah they have complimentary internet if you like less than a mb of service. Even their “premium” is sketchy 4-5mb. The newer TVs (LG 49”) are programmed in eco mode so you get to watch super dark non vibrant TV. This makes me laugh because there are decent webOS TVs and have HDR. What a waste. Their breakfast buffet was located on the second floor and set up like a high school cafeteria. The breakfast was decent except for the dried out eggs/omelette. The main pet peeve was that the staff like to have full blown conversations outside your door and speak at 500 decibels. Their snack shack is a rip off (I know all hotels are). The main thing was they advertised bottled 710ml pop for $3.00 and canned pop for $2.50...... but had no bottled pop in stock. The other nearby hotels didn’t look promising except for Aloft. I recommend a whole new renovation with major updates at $140 a night.

Arrived at 3 AM after leaving my husband in Emergency at the Foothills Hospital. Had a reservation, was locked out and no answer x 3 tries on the in house phone. Concerned for my safety. Back to my vehicle, locked it and started up, it was cold. Finally someone there. Checked in. Exhausted both mentally & physically. Room with 2 queen beds. Pulled covers back on 1, yuck! A scab or piece of dried skin and a couple of tiny black fuzzies in middle top area. Next bed just had a small black hair top outside. Too tired to care, will deal with in morning. Got up went to bathroom to shower, yuck! 2 long black hairs on wall just above edge of tub. Definitely not mine. Went to front desk to talk to day manager and told him my room was unacceptable, he said he couldn't leave the desk so sent the head of Housekeeping to my room. She was apologetic, not sure how the, whatever it was, got into the bed as she was sure the bed had been made and she appeared vague about the long black hairs. (Yes, she had long black hair) She assured me the room would be cleaned now for me, I said I was checking out. The manager did not follow up, or apologize, or ask what the hotel could do to rectify the situation, in fact no mention at all when I checked out and I was too annoyed already to bring it up again. So he effectively passed the buck to the Housekeeping lady. Needless to say we will not be staying there ever again. We picked that hotel for its location close to the Tom Baker Centre, Foothills Hospital and they give you a discount when you are being treated at the hospital. However, it makes me wonder if you get a discount they don't care what kind of room they give you. Customer service seems to be gone these days.
