The Masters Golf tournament that takes place in April every year is Augusta’s claim to fame. But did you know that Augusta – Georgia’s second largest metro area – was also never attacked by Sherman? Meaning this historic city is teeming in antique stores, museums, historical homes, and Civil War history galore. Augusta also boasts a happening culinary scene, outdoor-fun like kayaking, even President Woodrow Wilson’s boyhood home. You’ll also find a thriving artists’ colony.
Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Augusta, Washington Road sits two-miles to the Augusta National Golf Club, six-miles to the Augusta Riverwalk, and six-miles to the boyhood home of President Wilson. This stunning three-star opened in December 2016 to rave reviews. Her standard guest rooms feature a king bed or two queens. Upgrade to a king suite with more square-footage and a pullout sofa.
Guest rooms have a mini-fridge, a microwave and a flat-screen. Many rooms have a pullout sofa. The property features a hot complimentary breakfast, free parking, and free Wi-Fi. The outdoor pool with shooting fountains is large and has succeeded in creating a resort vibe. Kids will also love the impressive life-size chess and the putting greens. And whole crew will love the cushy seating wreathing the outdoor fire pit. The hotel also has coin-laundry and a fitness room.

We stay at this property regularly on our way to North Carolina. It is conveniently located just off the highway; close to Starbucks and a very clean property. It is set back from the main road leading into the property so it is more secure than some of the hotels directly on Washington Road.

Another superb Hampton Inn visit. All of the staff were friendly and interested in our well being during our stay. The Hampton breakfast was "just right" for getting us fed and an early start on our trip. I would highly recommend this location.
