My husband and I drive across country a lot, and this time we needed a motel and quickly made a decision to try Hamilton Holiday Motel. I will tell you that I thought he said Holiday Inn, so I was fine with my husband's choice as he looked at his mobile phone. When we drove into Hamilton and drove into the parking lot, I was a little steamed as I thought the place did not look like a Holday Inn....which of course it wasn't. It was late and we checked in. In spite of the retro outside and the desk clerk behind a glass window, the room was fine. It was exceptionally clean. In fact it was much cleaner than many a chain motel or hotel in which we have slept. The bed was comfy and we had a good night's sleep. So, I am trying to be less judgemental about non-chain motels and hotels. As I counsel myself, I like to remind others that there are many small businesses for which we mourn when they are gone, but they are gone because we the public do not frequent these places. Yes, the room was about $50.00 and change for King non-smoking. The other reviewers and I are sort of on the same track, but I think with a few more customers, this motel might become a bright spot for travelers.
