At Guana Island, you’ll choose between sea view rooms and villas. Both options are beautiful and private, but the villas offer more options for families, with options ranging from one to three bedrooms, all with private pools and Jacuzzis. The lack of televisions in the rooms will encourage your family to spend their vacation out and about (or even reading a book during down time). Tennis courts, hiking trails, snorkeling and diving, and boat charters are all just a short distance away, and the staff are happy to help you arrange activities. When you get hungry, visit the organic orchard, dine in the onsite dinner restaurant, or make a special request from the resort’s personal chef.

But for Hervé Villechaize standing on shore pointing out the planes landing, our stay on Guana was nothing short of fantasy island. The island is a beautiful getaway to relax and play a bit. If you're looking for a bunch of nightlife and city-like activities, this is not the place for you. But, if you are looking for an unplugged getaway on an island with no cars, really no TV, and a limited capacity for how many people you'll share the island with, give it a hard look. The accommodations are great, amenities and food even better and the beaches, views and the like will leave you breathless. We'll definitely be back.
