The accommodations were not what you would expect for the price you will pay, but that is usually explained to you when you register. We were there for a Simply Sagamore weekend which gave us access to all of their facilities, which are not that many. There is a boat house with kayaks and canoes so that you can explore the lake, and there is a tour of the facilities (full camp) that is included in your stay. The tour is excellent, the history of how the camp(s) came about and why was fascinating. The food each day which included all three meals was very good, not great, but still better than average for sure.
We were in the Collins building and shared 3 bathrooms with 10 rooms total. The bathrooms were the problem for the most part as they need a major upgrade and the one closest to our room I would say was not spotless. If you are going to share a bathroom that I think should be a priority. You could not control the heat in your room but were able to open windows to allow the cooler air in. The rooms are very small and we could not read at night unless we turned on the too bright overhead light as there were not table lamps available. This is a well maintained for the most part, 100+ year old great camp so you can expect some of this I suppose. The price at over $350 per night was just too much we think for what was offered.

Coming from Newport, RI, we caught wind of the iconic Great Camp Sagamore and continued our fascination with the Vanderbilts. Very informative 2 hour tour detailing the property's history, the Vanderbilt family, and how the Adirondacks came to be. Rich in history and stories - a fun afternoon activity!
