Overview

The best choice on the mountain for families with young children, the Grand Summit Hotel is located just a few minute’s drive from the center of the action at South Ridge Lodge, and featuring an outdoor pool and health club and weekly bonfires and other activities. Built in the 1990s and frequently renovated, it offers comfortable if not luxurious accommodations — think somewhere between Comfort Inn and Marriott. It contains 230 rooms, most of them studios and one-bedrooms, which can be connected to form two-bedrooms. Some have Murphy beds that pull down from the walls and pull-out couches, allowing for up to 8 people to share a two-bedroom, and three-quarters of the rooms have efficiency kitchens with stove, microwave, and refrigerator. Most also feature HD-TVs and Blu-Ray DVD players.

Okay- would go back if paying summer prices

by Sarah K

Plan to go back again next year. The rooms are out of date but mostly clean. The tub didn't drain well and there was a lot of dust on the fan in the bathroom. Hotel staff were professional and nice. The Camp restaurant and bar was great- updated, awesome food and great service. The pool was nice but also felt it could be a bit more clean. It was the summer when we were there so prices weren't bad. I feel like the negative things I mentioned would bother much more if we paid winter prices. I also think this is the best option for the area.

Convenient and comfortable, great breakfast

by disugi

The beds are quite comfortable and it is truly a ski-in, ski-out hotel. The breakfast buffet is very good and varied. The full sized coffee maker with yummy local coffee was very appreciated. The rooms were a bit dated, but comfy and clean. The hot tub set up was bizarre - it is an outdoor hot tub but there is no way to walk to it. You have to enter the pool through a small part inside, swim all the way to the end of the pool outside and then get in to the hot tub this way. The swim back was very much not fun when the outdoor temperature is way below freezing so I only used the hot tub once, which was a bummer.
