The Golden Plough Inn has many rooms in several buildings. We have stayed in the inn, as well as the other locations, and have always been more than satisfied with our accommodations. Some of the rooms have a fireplace which makes for a cozy evening. The full breakfast, that is sometimes included in the room rental, is excellent, and the restaurant atmosphere is very pleasant.

I was torn writing this review. The property, atmosphere, suite were all beautiful. Our room was spacious and immaculate. The check-in was smooth and they even called us early to let us know our room was available well before the 3pm check in. When I called to make our reservation I left it up to the front desk to pick a room for us. As I said we were pleasantly surprised when we first went into our room. However, after about 5 minutes reality set in. We were facing the main road and the constant traffic was VERY loud. The road is a main highway so there was no letup ALL night long. The large tractor trailers(which went by every few minutes) actually banged and physically shook the room. There really is nothing the hotel can do about this, it is merely location. Would this stop us from returning? Absolutely not. We are looking forward to another stay but we will be sure to request a room away from the highway. If you are a light sleeper or if you are looking for a peaceful quiet getaway make sure you request a room away from the highway. Yes, it really is that disruptive and loud.
