Set on 40 acres, the Golden Eagle, was originally a small hotel. Today, the outside corridor resort features 89 rooms, many of which feature wood-burning fireplaces. One-bedroom suites are the most spacious for families, with a full kitchen, living room and room to sleep six with a king bed and two sofa beds. All rooms have a mini-fridge and the resort is pet-friendly. Breakfast is offered daily.

We stayed at the Golden Eagle for Veterans Day Weekend on a package arranged by friends. The amazing surrounding scenery at the first snowfall was eclipsed by the accommodations(our room was spacious and included a gas fireplace and jacuzzi), the amenities which included indoor pool/hot tub, spa, game rooms and spacious meeting hall and the Nest Cafe where we had a great choice of menu all three days as well as a dinner gathering. But all that was eclipsed by our hosts Jamie and Jasmin and their welcoming staff who made even a small request their priority. The Golden Eagle is now a choice hotel and after this trip we plan not only to return for next years weekend with organized friends but also during each season in the coming year due to the impression made on us by all.

The room was clean, but very average. What attracted us to the resort is that they allow dogs for an additional $25 charge. The grounds are lovely and offer a lot of amenities. The breakfast at The Nest is very good. The setting is very nice.
