We are actually staying at Giri Carik and what a find! The hotel itself has five spacious bungalows set in a private and tranquil garden. We are in Bungalow 2 and are presently enjoying a glorious view over the rice fields and Gunung Agung as the sun begins to set. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the hotel provides excellent value for money and fantastic service. The restaurant has a great view and the food is really delicious and so far the best we’ve tried here. Would highly recommend and would return.

A small accommodation complex with excellent views of Gunung Agung and friendly, helpful staff. No aircon, but if you’re used to a tropical climate the elevation of Sidemen easily compensates with cool mornings and evenings. Highly recommend the Balinese breakfast treats, JaJa, from the restaurant menu if you like some sweet treats with your coffee to start the day. The only disappointment was the menu in general, which seems to be designed mostly to cater for European palates. Still, the Warungs catering for Sidemen locals serve delivery delicious Balinese food and are only a short walk away...
