Not only is Gearhart’s a stunning, classically designed oceanfront inn, inside and out, but it was also featured on the TODAY Show! The hotel features a queen bed in one room and a pair of twin extra-long beds in the other. In the living room is a Gas Franklin stove, an armoire with a flat screen TV, DVD player and stereo; two sofas, a dining room table, and full kitchen including a microwave, full refrigerator, stove and oven, dishwasher, coffeemaker and complimentary coffee and herbal teas. For families with one child, there’s the one-bedroom suite with a full bed, plus twin extra-long bed in a cozy upstairs bedroom with TV.
Food is available at Gearhart Grocery, a small town market and deli. Complimentary rackets and tennis balls available to take over to the public tennis courts one block away and free clam ‘guns’ can be borrowed to go clamming on the beach.

This was the perfect stay for our little family. We have stayed in Seaside on all our past trips to the Oregon coast but the cottages at Gearhart Ocean Inn is my new favorite destination. It was a treat to find a cottage with old charm and reasonable updates. My favorite was to find new vinyl windows and updated bathroom fixtures. Lovely touches everywhere you look including the garden with fire pit and plenty of Entertainment to borrow (bikes, chairs, movies, games). The cottages are convenient to the beach and a few restaurants as well.

My wife and I stayed here for a weekend in September and couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and went out of their way to explain the free-to-use amenities (bikes, beach chairs, fire pits, restaurants around the property, etc.) The room additionally came with a ton of suggestions and information on what to see and eat in the extended area. High marks all around to the proactive helpfulness of the staff. One thing to note, if arriving late, call ahead as the office is not 24 hours.
The room itself was a little duplex with a living room with fireplace (gas heater) and some couches, an efficiency kitchen, and the only bathroom (which was not huge but not tiny either.) The bedroom was upstairs, and the bed was comfy. We were right next to the office and yet had no problem with noise, though town itself, which you are right in the middle of was quite as this was post-Labor Day.
What really made the property special, besides the service and friendliness of staff, was the location. Located directly across from a lovely coffee and pastry spot and about 3 blocks from the beach, we could not have felt more relaxed. We grabbed coffee every morning and took long wanders through town and some minor window shopping. If ever back in the area, we will be staying in Gearhart and at the Ocean Inn.
