I wanted an inexpensive place near the airport for my trip. Many of the nearby properties had stories of roaches, outdated decor, and sketchy parking lots. I chose this property based on Tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. This is a clean, safe property which to me, is in the Courtyard Marriott tier of hotels. Even though this property is adjacent to a major free way and the airport, my room faced the Hampton Inn and was relatively quiet.
Rooms: Small, but clean. My room had 2 queens with a chair. There was a decent sized desk with a small dorm fridge. Bathroom was average size, updated and really well lit. Room looked and felt really clean, although the hallways had a slight musty odor to it. Room was well equipped with USB ports. Bathroom had a dispenser for shampoo and soap which on the one hand was nice, but I felt the quality of products was not as good as what say, Marriott Courtyard or Hampton Inn offers in individual bottles.
Location: 5 minutes from San Antonio airport with easy access on and off the freeway. Many dining options nearby - there was a Cracker Barrell and an Applebees well within walking distance. Pappadeaux was also walkable - but slightly further away. Plenty of parking, and the lot was well lit and felt safe.
Amenities: Average gym with numerous cardio machines. There were dumbells but no weight bench. Major demerits for what I felt was the worst internet connection I have ever experienced in a hotel. Connection was slow and intermittent for the 2 days I was there. When I had something important I needed to look at, I went and used the lobby computer.
Service: Friendly and efficient.
