This is an original homestead from 1885. Guests can choose between two log cabin rentals, a suite in the historic barn, and two rooms in the main house. Four Mile Creek offers two classic queen-sized rooms, as well. All guests enjoy a full hot breakfast in the main dining room each morning. This spot is ideal if you are planning a trip to nearby Sunlight Mountain for skiing or an outdoor adventure. The cozy cabins are historic and the décor adds to the experience.

Jim and Sheryl are wonderful hosts who made us feel right at home — calling to provide directions since the main bridge was closed, checking on dietary restrictions, recommending a restaurant in Carbondale, and offering us cookies upon our arrival. We stayed in the creek side cabin, but were encouraged to check out the Indian teepee, bunkhouse and barn. The breakfast was amazing!!

Hard for me to understand the previous review, as my wife and I also visited in September and our experience was the polar opposite. Jim was extremely easy to deal with for the booking and with directions for arriving at night. We stayed in the cozy creek-side cabin with the creek gurgling just outside the bedroom window. The grounds are lovely; the barn loft "museum"/performance stage a unique bit of Americana, and the breakfast featured homemade personal quiches. On a week-long trip through Colorado and Utah this was easily our top-rated lodging. Excellent choice if visiting Glenwood Springs, and not that far a drive from Aspen. Thanks Jim and Sheryl for a memorable stay!
