Overview

Calling itself a little taste of New Orleans in the heart of New England, this lakeside inn plays up the innkeeper’s Cajun heritage in sweeping breakfasts of grits, praline bacon, pecan waffles and other southern delicacies. The inn is situated on a small lake nearby Lake Sunapee, and guests have the run of the property’s boats, which include kayaks, canoes, a rowboat and a sailboat. Bikes are also free for guests to take.
The 18 rooms are decorated in a distinctively bold palette of red, blue, and green; each has its own bathroom. In some cases, rooms can be combined to create a suite for families with a queen or king bed and two twins. In the common area, a rustic game room sports walls made of salvaged barn wood, a gas stove, and shelves full of board games to while away the hours.

This 1840 inn is full of character, beautiful views, and a passion by its owner. Denis (and Nancy) were very accommodating, and breakfast was excellent. The fall colors were amazing as a backdrop to the beautiful lake. Our room had an old, clawed bathtub with a surrounding curtain and shower. All of the rooms have differences and tell a different story. We met a couple that stayed in most of them, which is really the best testimonial of this wonderful property.

A warm and inviting Inn filled with antiques, fireplaces and one very friendly, non-intrusive dog to meet you on arrival. Dennis and Nancy, the owners are friendly, excellent hosts who insure you have a memorable stay. I was a guest in their very clean home with privacy and good accommodations. Beautiful area with lots of history. Outstanding breakfast, all local produce, excellent meal served in a beautiful dining area.
