I try not to leave bad reviews, but I felt compelled. I’ll just jump right in...
We were not given information on the ongoing construction of this hotel when booking through the Marriott app. After driving 6 hours, we arrived to find the front entrance completely blocked off. It’s dark, and we had to drive around searching for a side entrance. We eventually found an open door with a small paper taped to it that had “enter hotel here” lazily scribbled on it.
There were no vending machines in the hotel, and the brightly lit and fully functioning “market” refrigerators were totally empty. No beverages on site.
The newly remodeled bathroom needs some work... the fancy shower drain doesn’t actually drain the water properly, clogs, and leaves you standing in a pool of water that threatens to flood the bathroom (see pics)
There was also water leaking out between the toilet and floor, does not look caulked properly.
What really caused me to leave this review was slicing my foot open on the exposed metal bedframe, which sticks straight out where someone would be swinging their feet off the bed. (see pics)
Also, the complimentary “eggs bacon fruit etc” breakfast is just some muffins, bagels, and prepackaged sandwiches that you have to microwave yourself.
This being such a short stay, and rushed, we just didn’t feel the need to complain to the one woman working the desk. I did log the complaints in the Marriott app early the next morning, haven’t heard back.
Certainly wouldn’t stay again.

My husband Timothy , myself and friends stayed here in the end of July . We were aware the lobby was still under construction and so expected this. The floor we were on was completed. We had 2 rooms the floors had not been vacuumed -the wood panels between the beds were off and on the floor exposing the wires ( we fixed this ourselves) One of the rooms tub would not drain and I notified the front desk 2 x stating it would be fixed when the rooms were cleaned. Returning later that evening- 1 room had 1 bed made the other not- nothing wiped down or cleaned. The other room had 1 bed made and the other straightened out -the tub drian was not fixed-surfaces were not wiped down - and when I inquired again about the tub- no one ever showed up - so dirty water stood in it all week end. I notifid the headquarters 8/4 /19 as I did not receive a survey as usual- they responded quicky stating they would have the hotel respond. a week later the customer service responed to say they were sorry for delayed response and I would hear from the hotel shortly- It is 8/22 with no response from the Fairfield Scranton -so I decided it was time to write a review! This is NOT the usual treatment from any Marriott ( we are Elite gold members and use them for group events ) My advice is to choose another hotel if you are staying in the area ! I am assuming reading the other reviews they have not replied to me as they have too many other complaints-Terrible refelection on Marriott who usually are excellent
