Stay Somewhere Else if You Desire A/C

Checked in over the weekend for a one night stay. Once I got to the room, I noticed it was quite warm. I located the A/C thermostat on the wall and saw the room was 77 degrees despite the thermostat being set to 70 degrees. It was a hot weekend in Orange County, so I was really trying to be patient and allow the A/C, which was a physically large unit at the window, to do its job. But, after 30 minutes of not very cool air coming from the unit, I advised the front desk the A/C appeared to be broken and asked to move rooms.

I then moved to a new room and noticed the same issue. The wall thermostat was set to 69 degrees but the room temperature was 76 degrees. So, thinking this cannot be a coincidence, I called the front desk and asked if they limit the A/C to a certain temperature despite what the wall thermostat is set to. Sure enough, they advised me that they limit the A/C to a floor of 75 degrees. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? First off, that is completely ridiculous. Second, why is there no sign on the wall thermostat advising you that the A/C will not go any cooler than 75 degrees?

I am paying well over $100 per night for a very small room, and I should be allowed (do you hear that Marriott???) to cool the room down to whatever temperature I desire. An artificial cap at a warm 75 degrees is absurd. I will not be staying here, or any other Fairfield Inn, again.

On my visit of August 12th,2019; was on a family vacation with our toddler for the first time. We had a very late flight into the Fairfield Hotel; and were with a very loud obnoxious neighboring individual. None of us were able to sleep until 3am due to the amount of noise and loudness of it. After speaking with Front desk manager Jecks De La Cruz regarding the situation. He was able to immediately resolve the situation and accommodate us for the remainder of our stay. Jecks made the remaining of our vacation a time to remember. I recommend this place & would definitely stay here again!

Outdoor Pool

The outdoor pool is small, but perfect to enjoy after a day at Knott's Berry Farm. Lounge chairs and a few umbrellas surround the pool and pool towels are provided. The pool is open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and there are no lifeguards on duty.

A free, hot breakfast buffet is available to families from 6:30 to 9 a.m during the week and from 7 to 9:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Families will find things like eggs, pastries, sausage, fruit, hot and cold cereal, waffles and more here.

Market

The small onsite market located in the lobby offers snacks, beverages, ice cream, frozen meals and more for guests to purchase.

Getting Around

This hotel is conveniently located off the main roadway in Buena Park, where many area restaurants and attractions are situated. While a vehicle is needed to see much of the area, families can easily walk to a few surrounding restaurants and stores when staying here.
