Alamogordo doesn’t have any upscale hotels; most are on a par with this Fairfield Inn. It is newer than the comparable hotels in town. Free parking in front, breakfast included. The room we had on the top floor was OK, adequate space and (based on past visits) maybe a little nicer than the other similar hotels nearby. Beds were good. Coffee available in the lobby all day. Breakfast is only served until 0930, even on weekends. Pretty basic; scrambled eggs, sausage and Canadian bacon, little cheese omelets (pre-made), no potatoes, but they did have breads, muffins, bagels, some sweet breads, oat meal, make your own pancakes and make your own waffles, cold cereal, some fresh strawberries (not in good shape). There is an older hotel in town that has been remodeled recently, could be better than this place, but this is probably about as good as you will find in Alamogordo.

First time both in Alamogordo and at this property. The property seems new, well maintained with three floors. Staff is very friendly and they keep the interior of the hotel as clean and attractive as the exterior. I was assigned to the 3rd floor in an executive room and was very pleased. Aside from the typically awesome beds noted for this chain, the room also had a small living room and spacious bath. Something I did not expect and always wanted was a ceiling shower and unexpectedly switched it on and what a joy. If you are standing under a ceiling mounted shower head, there’s no need to twist, turn or stoop. Because the water is falling directly from above, it hits every part of your body at the same time. Heck, I will come back here just to take a shower - it was that awesome! Room was very quiet as it property is nestled near the foot of the mountain and the heating / AC works very well for comfort. WiFi is superb and the room came with two TV's, one in the bedroom and the other in the mini-Living room. This hotel did not have a Keurig coffee maker, rather an older style so if you are partial to Keurig, you will need to bring your own. The housekeeping ladies checked to make sure all was a go before they left - again very warm toward guests. In the morning checkout was a breeze, but not before having a nice hot breakfast with bacon, eggs either scrabbled or omelette and sausage along with fruits and other gastronomical delights. I will find a reason to visit and stay at this property. Highly recommend, check it out and you will be most pleased.
