This was the most exceptional hotel either of us had ever stayed at. We are actually disappointed now because we know that no hotel would compare. We felt comfortable and welcome from the second we stepped in the door. Although the setting was grand and spectacular, really, there was a comfortable atmosphere. Completely unpretentious. We felt like we were at home. The staff were so lovely. Really really lovely. It was as if this was not a job to them, but a joy. Everyone! From the front desk to the hotel shop, to the service in our room (outstanding tidying every day). The "Mothers" restaurant in the hotel was so wonderful, we ate there ALL 4 evenings we were there! I know that sounds silly as Portland has so much to offer, but we were hooked! It just felt so comfortable. We honestly have never experienced such a fantastic stay. The rooms were very high quality and huge. Extremely clean. We could not believe our luck. Because we are on business, we were not able to see much of Portland, but we are already planning a family trip - just so we can come back here! lol. Thank-you to all who made our stay such a pleasure.

This hotel is in a great location for downtown, Chinatown, convention center. But- this hotel needs a major facelift. Our bathtub/shower was broken, backed up, and ran out of hot water. The bedsheets and bed comforter were dirty. The windows were filthy. The suite was extremely dusty. Paint was chipping and dingy.
