Our absolute favourite hotel in the world! When my husband and I were dating we stayed here here on a whim when we wanted to spend one more day in Colorado(June 2014) This is where we both realised we were truly in love! We almost got married here but wasn’t quite in our budget at the time. We did honeymoon here(Nov 2014)and it was just as magical if not more than the first time! The private honey suite hottub, Christmas lights, and falling snow is one of my favourite all time memories. We have since vacationed here almost every time we go to Denver (live in Glenwood Springs now). This is the place that convinced us Colorado was for us! The owners were also Alaskans like my husband which made it all the more special for him. Theyve watched us go from young lovers, to newlyweds, and are now watching our kids grow up. This place is so special and we hope you will think so too!

Just an hour out of Denver and yet it feels like you're from from the city, with big decks with a sunset view and hot tubs under a million stars. Almost more of an inn than a motel: I enjoyed talking with the owners and meeting other guests, and they compensate for the fact that there are few food options nearby with a huge (included) breakfast, little snacks, coffee and tea out all day, more snacks and a full bar available for purchase on the honor system, and pizza available for purchase every night. Common spaces also have a sports-watching room, pool table, games, and inside and outside gathering spaces. It's a cool and quirky place.
Other misc notes that might cut either way for you: two cute little dogs wander in and out of the common spaces; all rooms are non-smoking but there is a smoking tipi outside with a firepit where you can indulge, if that's your thing; it's still definitely 3-star/former motel in some ways, don't expect the Four Seasons; the view is from the shared decks, not the rooms so much; it's kind of in the middle of nowhere but if you are traveling from Denver to Rocky Mt National Park, it's an easy stop that gets you out of Denver's traffic and right into your vacation.
