My husband and son recently got Scuba certified. We took our first scuba family trip where half of us did the scuba thing, and the other half just enjoyed the resort. It was amazing for all of us. The staff at El Cid made ALL of us feel like we were part of their family. My little one was not water confident...but the staff helped him get out of his comfort zone and made the trip totally memorable. Thanks Victor, Juan Carlos, Marco and Samuel

We purchased a Day Pass to El Cid La Ceiba and could not have been more pleased with our choice. We have been to Cozumel probably 40 times on cruises and it had been years since we visited El Cid. We loved that we could walk to the hotel from the pier saving the $40.00 round trip taxi fare to the southern beaches. We had our ticket printed out, so check in was easy. We arrived around 10 am, got our wrist bands and headed to the beach, although the pool looked very inviting. There was hardly anyone there so we got a front row palapa and settled in. No sooner did we put our stuff down than our waiter for the day, Paul, came by to introduce himself and take our drink orders. He was friendly and provided great service all day.
We ordered Nachos and the plateful was huge and delicious. We had fajitas for lunch and they were the best we have had on the island at any hotel, restaurant, or beach club.
The entry to the water was easy, but water shoes are recommended due to the rocks. The water was perfect.
We wanted to do a bit of shopping so we left El Cid around 3pm and shopped our way back to the ship.
We will definitely return on another day pass and will definitely consider staying at El Cid the next time we fly down to Cozumel.
The food and service was so
