The Edgewater hotel has only eight rooms, including two suites, which makes the property a quiet and private place for families to stay during a trip to Catalina Island. Every room and suite comes with queen beds, flat-screen TV’s, ocean or street views, mini-fridges and free Wi-Fi. Sofa beds and rollaway beds are available, which make the largest accommodation open to three guests. A complimentary breakfast is served daily, though there is no onsite dining available for lunch or dinner. A kitchen with a microwave is accessible to guests at the hotel though, which helps with meals and snacks for little ones. The Edgewater is close to the downtown area though, which offers restaurants and retail stores for family meals and activities. During the summer months, parents can enjoy a complimentary afternoon wine and cheese reception, too. The hotel is close to the beach and offers guests beach towels and chairs, upon request. Check-in is at 2 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m.

I stayed in Oceanview Suite 2 and really liked my room! It had a seating area looking to the water, boats, and beach as well as a desk area and bedroom. It was clean and comfortable and ownership graciously clicked on the a/c in my room just before I arrived. The building is very well maintained and the friendly ownership could not do enough for me, chatting about the Island and where to eat and what to see and do. The pearls in the downstairs gift shop are beautiful— and an unexpected delight among all the typical gift shop items. A continental style breakfast was available in the mornings and cookies appeared in the evening. I felt very special being in an 8 room hotel— every need was accommodated!

We had a beautiful time on Catalina Island. Our hotel was front and center to the beach and ocean, and downtown Avalon. Large picture windows on second floor and great, friendly, service. The Edgewater Hotel was a perfect choice. The boat trip back and forth was very comfortable. Instead of renting a golf cart at the cost of $50 per hour we chose to take an Island tour. It was a wonderful experience. About 3 1/2 hours and so informative.
