Our family came to the hotel on an off week (they were cleaning the pool so it was closed). The rates were great and we had the best time. They even had a fun kids movie on the fourth floor for our toddlers (with popcorn and coloring pages). (The attendant was so accommodating to our 1, 2, and 3 year old) We plan to come back every year on this weekend. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. Thanks Edgewater staff... you made our family weekend fun!

I NEVER have written a review before but had to for this visit!! My husband and I thought it would be great to bring our grandkids to this establishment for Teacher’s MEA so I booked a room I believe through hotels.com and was quoted 410.00 for 2 nights for a standard 2 queen bed room so I booked it. I then received a confirmation email stating the hotel would charge us the quoted price and nothing more so thought we were set. When we get there and begin their check in process the lady says “ Ok that will be 465.00”!!! I said “NO.......it’s supposed to be 410.00”!! I went out to the car to grab my tablet and produced the confirmation email upon showing it to her she looked dumbfounded and pawned me off on someone else!!! The next guy at the front desk then said it will be 435.00!!! Again pointing to the confirmation email I stated NO it’s 410.00!!! He explained that there where fees they have per day that weren’t on there that should have been. How it went from 465.00 the lady said it would be down to 435.00 the guy told us was never explained to me. After going back and forth what seemed like forever they would not honor the contracted price for the room. We cancelled the stay do to Edgewater Hotel breaching the contract. I wonder how many people have had to pay more at check in then what they had planned. The extra money was not the problem it was the principle of the whole thing. The front staff was rude and unwilling to honor the quoted price he just sat there with a stupid look on his face and refused to budge!! After reading a lot of horrible reviews of this hotel from rooms having roaches and mold to toilet not working for two days to rooms being plain filthy I believe we dodged a bullet!!!!!!! I will NEVER EVER return to this establishment!!! If I were you I would read some reviews before actually booking a room!!!’
