Overview

Drury Inn & Suites is largely based in the South; we wish the value chain could be everywhere. We visited our first Drury Inn & Suites in San Antonio — Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio Riverwalk — and found it to be a charming hotel for families, with all the necessary amenities for a vacation, and then some.
The recently remodeled hotel is set in a prime location on the city’s famed River Walk, with a private entrance available to guests. It also features complimentary breakfast, a swimming pool and free Wi-Fi. Added perks include afternoon popcorn, and complimentary evening receptions with appetizers and drinks (margaritas included). The appetizers are often so filling that they can be considered dinner!
Drury Inn & Suites San Antonio Riverwalk sits adjacent to another Drury Inn & Suites — the Drury Plaza Hotel Riverwalk. The other property is larger, but in terms of location and amenities, they’re one in the same; you can’t go wrong with a stay at a Drury Inn & Suites in San Antonio.

If you want to be steps from the River walk than this a great hotel at a reasonable price. However, it can be a little noisy though at night if your room is on the side of the River walk. it is a charming hotel in a historic building and area. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful. As for the food, evening drinks and snacks/meal were a plus and tasty. The morning breakfast was good as well. I would probably stay here again.

Located at the River Walk, this is within walking distance to many restaurants and places of interest. Breakfast is a daily buffet and early evening offers 3 free drinks along with hot dogs, tacos, chicken, rice, salad, fruit, etc.
We were there during The Day of the Dead festival. Great fun.
Long lines both in the a.m. and p.m. but well worth the wait.

The hotel has a small rooftop pool that's open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. There's also a hot tub.
San Antonio River Walk

The Art of Smart Timing
San Antonio bustles with tourists year-round, though it's especially busy -- and very hot -- during the summer months. It's also busy during Fiesta, which takes place every April and includes river parades, kids' events, live music and delicious food. If you can, plan to visit in October, when the weather is pleasantly warm, and there aren't many crowds. You will likely find better rates at the Drury Inn & Suites Riverwalk during this time, as well.
Getting There
San Antonio has an international airport, located about 20 minutes from the Drury Inn & Suites Riverwalk. Expect the commute to be longer if you arrive during afternoon or morning rush hour.
Getting Around
Parking is available for $16 per night -- a fair price considering the hotel's location. You won't need a car to get around downtown, as the River Walk, Alamo and other notable attractions are within walking distance of the hotel. You'll need a car if you plan to go to SeaWorld, Morgan's Wonderland, or the DoSeum, however.
For Mom and Dad
Make a reservation at Boudros -- any local will tell you it's a must-visit restaurant -- and be sure to order the guacamole, beautifully prepared tableside. Boudros is located on the River Walk, so be sure to request a
table outside. Kids are welcome.
