Excellent location and accommodations. Attentive staff. I stay at the Doubletree at least twice a year for the last 8 years (previously Jury’s Inn). Appreciate the free WiFi and chocolate chip cookies on arrival. Able to get anywhere in London by public transit with bus and tube within easy walking distance.

I stayed here at the start of the year and my room was cold then. Their heating system is completely ineffectual.
I gave them another chance last night and again the room never heated up. This wasn’t helped by housekeeping leaving the window open, when it was only 5c outside.
I therefore spent a cold night, not helped by a duvet that is too thin for winter use.
This time too, I found out around 11.30pm, that the hot water in the sink and bath never got hotter than luke warm. I did manage to fill the bath slowly using the shower hose, where the water did heat up. However, in the morning, only lukewarm water came from the shower. Completely unacceptable.
I just wanted to get out of the place and departed as soon as I could, even skipping having breakfast at the hotel. A first.
I’ve since complained to Hilton Honors, who are arranging for me to have a free night at any other Doubletree over the next 12 months. I hope Islington gets the chargeback. I’ll never stay here again.
