Situated on the banks of the Vermillion River, this DoubleTree by Hilton completed a $12-million renovation project in May 2015. Downtown Lafayette, Vermilionville Historic Village and Tabasco’s Avery Island and Jungle Gardens are also situated not far away from this hotel. The kids will love being welcomed to the hotel with the DoubleTree’s warm chocolate chip cookies.
The outdoor swimming pool and deck area is an ideal spot for families to spend some quality time after a day of exploring the town. The kids will have a great time swimming and splashing, and some of the guestrooms are located only a few steps from the pool. The spacious guestrooms and suites feature a mini-fridge and microwave, and connecting rooms are available. The onsite restaurant offers delicious Cajun cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the onsite nightclub is a nice spot for adults to unwind as well.

This hotel is long in the tooth, to say the least. The rooms are old, carpet stained, showers are iffy. We have stayed here 4 times in the past 3 months as our daughter goes to college in town. Elevators are a disaster. Breakfast downstairs is horrible. Stayed on concierge level this time which was a definite improvement. Problem was our room was never serviced. Not once. hotel is cheap but you are better off paying for better service.

I enjoyed the staff. They were very nice and friendly. The cookie was extremely good that was given when I first got there. The room was nice and taken care of well. I do not understand why the elevator was such an inconvenience. Guests were taking the service elevator or talking the stairs for several flights, because the elevator was so slow.
