We spent a week at the Divi Flamingo Beach Resort with a group of 16 people for a SCUBA diving adventure. The resort and facilities were beautiful and well maintained. Neither my wife or I went into the Casino so I have no comments about the casino. The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and lunches at the resort were good but not remarkable. We were on our own for dinner each night and we went into town to eat at establishments in town. The resort and facilities were some of the nicest we have stayed at over our past 10 dive vacations. The location, facilities, and location would bring us back for a return trip. The Divemasters and boat staff were the worst we have ever experienced. They were not the least bit helpful and do not warrant a return trip.

This was my third visit to the resort and I enjoyed it just as much as the first two. The group I travel with was in Bonaire to scuba dive and I'll talk about that with a review of the dive operation. For the hotel, though, the staff were as friendly and as welcoming as ever. The breakfast buffet is good and the scheduling fits the dive schedules well. The restaurant added a lunch buffet to be sure we easy access to food, but I didn't take advantage of that because I prefer a light lunch. The two dinners we had were very good, though. This time I opted for a standard room, which means it isn't on the beach and that was fine. I was on the second floor, above the hotel desk, and it was very nice. They are redoing the rooms and the bathroom was completely new and conveniently laid out. (With one very small exception; there isn't a soap dish in the shower.) The rooms still show their age in the layout of power outlets, but the lamps now have outlets built into them so charging phones and batteries and so on works reasonably well. Since the casino is included in the name of the resort I'll add one comment: operating hours are from 8:00pm to midnight but I could easily smell the stale cigarette smoke when I walked past the building during the daytime. But I didn't go there to gamble so it was only a curiosity to me.
