Overview
by Amanda Geronikos
The Divi Carina Bay Beach Resort & Casino is the only all-inclusive resort in the U.S. Virgin Islands, with rates covering all meals and activities, including water sports and mini-golf.
While it regularly offers package promotions and affordable rates, we don’t recommend the resort for families who are looking to plan a traditional all-inclusive getaway for their annual vacation. The resort is quite dated, and isn’t nearly as luxurious as the all-inclusive resorts you’ll find in Mexico and other parts of the Caribbean.
If you’re set on staying at an all-inclusive resort during your visit to St. Croix, however, you’ll be pleased with the hotel’s secluded location and beach, as well as the pricing for kids — children under 5 stay free, ages 6 to 11 are $40 and teens 12 to 17 are $75.

Room Information
Find the Best Price for Your Stay
Many of the property's guestrooms were updated in 2010, though they still look and feel fairly dated, furnished with beach décor that reminds us more of a motel and less of an all-inclusive resort. The guestrooms do, however, have balconies with views of the ocean, along with flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, mini-fridges and microwaves. Some units have tubs and some have showers; specify your preference when booking if this is important to your family. A safety box, iron and ironing board are also provided in each unit.
Rollaway beds are available upon request and cost $25 per night; cribs can be rented free of charge.
Standard Beachfront
This room comes with one king or two queen beds, sleeping four guests (or five with a rollaway bed or crib).
Deluxe Beachfront
This room type is slightly more spacious than the Standard Beachfront, and sleeps four to five people.
Premium Beachfront
These rooms feature updated furnishings, such as bamboo floors and marble countertops, along with a private balcony. It can sleep four to five guests.
Timeshare Properties
The resort also offers timeshare properties, set atop a hill that overlooks the ocean. These units can be booked through the resort, and most offer full kitchens and Jacuzzis.

My wife and I spent our Honeymoon at the amazing Divi Carina Bay. The staff was amazing, the food and atmosphere are what dreams are made of. The staff was extremely helpful when it came to my wife's dietary restrictions due to her celiac disease which we struggle to find almost anywhere else. We will certainly be back many times in the future.

We had a beautiful wedding here 9 years ago next month. In choosing a destination venue (from Nevada) we were won over by the staff at Divi Carina. Patti and Anne went out of their way to help us both plan and execute not only the wedding day, but our weeklong stay with 50 of our friends and family. Our wedding was beautiful and we all had a wonderful stay at Divi.
Family Activities
Pools
The hotel has two swimming pools; one is located by the ocean, while a smaller pool is located by the resort's timeshare properties. While the small pool is typically reserved for timeshare guests, guests of the hotel may use it if the main pool becomes too crowded. Both pools are open all day, but note that there aren't any lifeguards on duty.
Water Sports
Families enjoy water sports rentals, included in rates. Options include kayaks, sailboating, stand-up paddleboarding and snorkeling.
Dive Center
The hotel has an onsite dive center for those who would like to learn the sport. Guests also receive a complimentary lesson in the pool.
Tennis
The hotel has two tennis courts, and equipment may be rented.
Mini-Golf
Families love the mini-golf course, open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 9 to 9 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Games and equipment are included in rates.
Kids' Club
Offered 1 to 5 p.m. daily, the kids' club caters to children ages 4 to 12. Activities include treasure hunts, dive-in movies, and arts and crafts.

The resort hosts live, kid-friendly entertainment on select evenings.

Getting Around
Unless you plan to stay at the resort, you'll need a car to visit popular attractions in St. Croix, such as the city of Christiansted.
For Mom and Dad
The resort has a casino, and parents can easily hire a babysitter (advance notice is required) and enjoy a few rounds of Blackjack.
