This Marriott hotel inside the GM ‘RenCen’ will put your family in the heart of the iconic Detroit skyline and give you unbeatable views, of either the riverfront and Canada or Midtown and the rest of the Motown through the wall-to-wall floor to ceiling windows.
The Starbucks inside the RenCen is a choice spot to buy tasty egg sandwiches and pastries (along with mom’s grande latte or vanilla caramel milk steamer) to bring back up to the room to have family breakfast high above the city. The Renaissance Center People Mover stop is easily reachable from the lobby.

Stayed at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center on November 09 2019
Checked in around 6pm. After a very long drive from Toronto. We entered our room, it was dark and I was the first to enter. Only to trip on what I thought was a dog. It wasn't it was a dirty towel left behind. We called downstairs to have a manager come and to also request Ice. No Manager showed up, and no ice was provided. We had the bell boy come up and provide us with a keycard to another room. I wobbled myself up to the next floor up to get ice because our ice machine on the floor was broken.
We requested the bell boy get the manager to come up. After a long wait we had two managers come up. The house keeping manager and the front desk manager.
We were told we would have some soft of compensation and that they would give us a call and see if they could upgrade the room. We got notified no rooms were available and were told that we could have $50 credit to the restaurant. $50, between 3 people. Keep in mind our parking was $27 and wifi was $14.00
Please If your coming to Detroit get an Airbnb. Or any hotel but this one. The workers are rude. The service is slow.

I write to congratulate this otherwise nondescript hotel on a five star gym and gym attendant, Arlissa Jackson. She is a welcoming and personable representative for the Marriott. The gym is very large and clean. She is welcoming and helpful to all. Kudos to Arlissa and to the Marriott for retaining such an excellent employee in a difficult job. H
