This hotel is actually a river boat docked on the Sacramento River for a truly unique hotel concept. Staterooms feature queen beds, with a Queen and Twin stateroom available for families with one queen and one twin bed. The Captain’s Quarters two-story suite is located in the river boats original wheel house and features a separate living and sleeping area.
The ship provides casual and fine dinning options. The Pilothouse serves breakfast and brunch, as well as lunch and dinner in a casual setting. It is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and until 10 p.m. on weekends. For a more refined spot, the Delta Bar & Grill serves lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. (10 p.m. on weekends). Free Wi-Fi and made-to-order breakfast are available for all guests.

This has to be one of the most quirky hotels I have visited on my travels! The boat is gorgeously renovated, and still has plenty of historical charm. The room was clean, and still had some original fixtures. The bed was very comfortable as well! Beware of the bottom of the shower- it is very, very slippery. I about fell when I stepped in! The river view is gorgeous, and it was wonderful to be able to walk to dinner close by. However, with the river being so close it did get loud when party boats floated by on the water. The windows let lots of early morning light into the room, so no sleeping in if you are used to darker rooms. My biggest complaint is the valet only parking, and the carrying of your bags all the way down the ramp, through the hotel, up the multiple flights of narrow stairs. If just staying one night with a small bag, this would not be a problem. But when you are travelling out of a suitcase for longer than a week with a large, heavy checked bag, it leaves you struggling! Not necessarily something that can be changed by the hotel, but just something to be aware of. Enjoyed it overall!

I got my paddle wheel fix and loved spending the night in the middle of Old Sacramento. So much to do there on foot. The room was tight but had old brass fixtures and seemed really authentic. Slept well and had a good breakfast.
